My Shop!

To Sale Or Not To Sale...

After mulling over this for the last couple of days, trying to decide if it would de-value some of my work (or not), I have finally decided to add a "Sale" section to the shop. I need a space where I can sale out some original work (or limited edition prints ect) when I no longer have the room for them in the studio or when I really need the money.

Another thing of note... I have decided to release all prints of my work in limited editions (based on size and type).

Candyprint2

Here is how It will work.

2.5"x3.5" (or artist trading card size) ~ limited to 100 prints

5x7" ~ limited to 50 prints

8x10" ~ limited to 50 prints

Each print is signed, dated, and numbered on the back. If you have already purchased a print from my shop it already has this information (I keep track of these things ^.^).

This means that regardless of size there will only be an edition of 200 signed and numbered giclee prints produced for a given painting.

I'm excited to announce my first show as a full time artist.....

The show is in the main lobby of the Blue Room Theatre and will be up for the duration of their "Fresh Ink" Festival (June 5th-14th). I was in a bit of a hurry while taking these so the pictures are not the greatest. I just had to get some shots regardless.

I'm so excited! :o)

Lightning Tree

After spending a long time debating exactly what should go on my 24x30" canvas I finally settled on a swirl painting. Not just any swirl painting. A "Lightning Tree".

You can see some reflections on its surface (its about 1/4-1/2 gel medium). I absolutely LOVE the way this painting turned out and I have several more planned out that I will start work on this weekend. Right now this painting is the centerpiece in my very own showcase at the Blue Room Theatre here in Chico. I should have pictures up from the exhibition over the weekend. It coincides with the blue rooms annual *Fresh Ink Festival and the paintings will be on display from June 5th through June  14th.

It hadn't occurred to me (until this week) that I should make ACEOs like my thick swirl paintings. I think they turned out really well.

Officially Award Winning

I entered four paintings in the 2008 Silver Dollar Fair here in Chico

"Sunset On Half Moon Bay"

Well, I found out on Monday that "Head Full of Flowers" took FIRST PLACE in the oil and acrylic category. What came in second, you ask? Why it was "Orange Swirl"! How exciting is that? I am a little sad now that orange swirl sold and has been shipped off to its new happy owner ( I'm really going to miss that painting) but, on the bright side, I now have more space for new work! ^.^

You can get prints of each painting (No prints of my swirl paintings as of yet but I have the images and everything in the works) here in the shop.

Finals are over. "Finally!" ^.^

Its been a crazy two weeks but cramming projects in at the last minute has always been my specialty. My summer classes start in June though, what was I thinking! (another painting/drawing class lol) :oX

In other news the very first of my sculptures sold yesterday! I am so excited! I'm sure it found a great home. ;o)

My plans for the summer include working my butt off on a full series of these guys. Probably around ten. Various sizes and colors (the one pictured is 5x5"). I might even sculpt different kinds of flowers. We'll see.

For now I am off to grab a bite with the BF. Hope everyone has an amazing afternoon! (stay out of the heat!)

*School is out! ::Dances::

Its Hot Outside..

Map2_3
(photo provided by Weather.com)

As beautiful as summers are here in Chico, California I must say its far too hot. The seasons always seem to change too fast. One minute my house is cold. Its still sweater season. The next its in the 90's with very high humidity (yuck).  They are predicting record setting temperatures over the weekend. Even Skylar (My chihuahua) has stopped shivering and is now panting from the heat or sleeping under the A/C.

Some day I am going to move to the coast or perhaps the mountains. Anywhere that doesn't get over 80F during the summer would be nice.

*I used a tiny picture of Skylar as a puppy to mark my location on the map. I'm hoping that somehow the cute can nullify the ick.

Finals week

Finals week is this week (for me anyway). I can't wait until I can paint just for paintings sake again.

Until then here is a little "filler art" to tide you over. lol

I love getting mail!

So about two weeks ago I read a post in the Etsy Forums about a cheap little Tripod for sale on Buy.com for ten dollars.

I kinda needed one so I went to check it out. Well, along with the amazing price of ten dollars google checkout has been offering ten dollars off your first purchase if you signed up with them.

My total came to 0.78 cents!

Here it is at Buy.com

It includes a nylon carrying case and is universal for almost every kind of camera/camcorder.

I love it! Its perfect for my needs as an artist. Anyway, be sure to check it out. :o)
